Kelly Kerr – Owner/Director
Kelly started dancing at the age of 3 at her mothers dance studio RussellSchool of Baton and Dance in Malden Mass. She studied Ballet, Tap and Jazz at the E. Virginia Williams school of Dance, Boston Ballet and Sherry Gold’s Dance Unlimited and was a Gold Company Dance Member. She danced in the Boston Ballet’s Production of the Nutcracker for 8 years and started teaching dance at the age of 18 at the E. Virginia Williams School of dance and was the Director/teacher for Creative Arts for Kids in Reading. Taking a short break from teaching to pursue a professional career Kelly danced in N.Y.C. As a dancer for the singer Mark Anthony & Crissy Ieiss. Performed at PleasureIsland Walt Disney World Florida for 6 years, Dance and competed on The Television series Star Search in California. Was a Scholarship student at The Joe Tremaine’s Studio in Hollywood Ca. Performed many shows for the Orlando Magic Half time shows and danced in Opryland, Tennessee and Busch Gardens in Williamsburg Va. Kelly returned from a professional career to take over the Direction of Dance Track and follow in her mother’s foot steps in 1995. She is a member of The Dance Teachers Club of Boston, Dance Masters of America and Actors Equity Association. Now a mother of two Kelly loves to inspire her students with a love for dance and performing as a dancer. Kelly is blessed to have so many wonderful Families dancing at Dance Track.
Miss Melissa - A native of Melrose, Miss Melissa has had a passion for dance since the age of nine. A former student of Dance Track she studied tap, jazz, and ballet and danced on a competition team. She is a member of the Dance Teachers club of Boston and instructs dance to many students at the studio where she originally gained her knowledge: Dance Track. Melissa is an assistant Dance Captain, Contributing choreographer, and outreach instructor for the Boston Dance Company “Rainbow Tribe”. She currently teaches D.A.R.E. (R) Dance at Sarah GreenwoodSchool in Dorchester. Melissa is inspired by the children she teaches each day at Dance track where she started out assisting classes when she was 13 years old.
Miss Amy– Miss Amy majored in dance at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She spent two summers on scholarship at GusGiordano DanceCenter in Chicago, IL and trained with many master teachers such as Lynn Simonson, Sean Curran, Jeanette Neil, Adrienne Hawkins, Adrienne Mincz & Jim Viera. In 1996 she presented her choreographic debut “Eye of the Storm” at the Jazz Dance Recovery Project performed at Massachusetts College of Art. She has performed extensively with Impulse Dance Company under the direction of Adrianne Hawkins and most recently with Five Flights up under the direction of Adrienne Mincz. Venues have included the Boston Summer Dance Festival, First Night Boston, Hatch Shell on the Charles and other performances throughout New England. In addition to being a Physical Therapist and mother of two, Amy has continued to teach all levels of dance. She is a member of Dance teachers club of Boston and has taught at Northern EssexCommunity College, Jeanette Neil Dance Studio, Suffolk University and Scalzi School of Dance in Watertown. Her Group and solo choreography has won numerous accolades locally and nationally. As a Dance Track faculty member, Amy enjoys teaching jazz, tap, contemporary/lyrical as well as choreographing competition numbers for various Dance Track dance teams.
Miss Megan- was classically trained in ballet under the direction of Kathy Kozul and Jose Mateo's Ballet Theater with additional training in jazz and technique from Bill McLaughlin. She began performing at a young age and has danced in several works including The Nutcracker and Cinderella. Megan holds a minor in dance from UMass Boston where she specialized in ballet and performed in and choreographed student productions in several styles. She has been teaching ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, and contemporary in the Boston area for over nine years in both recreational and public school settings. Megan also directed the dance module of a pilot preschool arts project in conjunction with the College of Public and Community Service at UMass Boston under the direction of Joan Arches. The program brought educationally based dance and movement classes into a local preschool in an effort to promote learning through the arts. Megan has been with Dance Track since 2008.
Miss Susan– a Malden native, started dancing at age 3 and baton twirling at age 6 under the direction of Marlene Russell. She was the Malden High School Marching Band’s Mascot at age 6 and also a Malden High School Marching Band Majorette during her four years of high school. She also danced under the direction of the E. Virginia Williams School of Dance, Rennie & Rhee Gold and Jeanette Neill Dance Studio, Boston. She has danced competitively and has performed in numerous repertory shows in Boston. She has been teaching dance since 1985 and is a member of Dance Teacher’s Club of Boston and Dance Master’s of America. Susan has three children and feels her life experiences in raising her children and teaching dance for the past 27 years has made her the creative and compassionate teacher she is today!
Miss Elaine – a Stoneham native and Mother of three all who dance at Dance Track. Elaine started dancing at the age of three at the E. Virginia Williams School of dance under the renowned teacher, Miss Marjorie Duff. She went on to continue her dancing at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where she was a member of the twirling and dance team. Graduated with a B.S. in Biology/Psychology and a separate degree in Ultrasonography. Miss Elaine is a member of the Dance Teachers Club of Boston and has been inspiring students in the dance world for the past 15 years.
Miss Taylor - a native of Stoneham started dancing at the age of 4 here at Dance Track. She graduated from Stoneham High School in 2009 and is now pursing her college degree in Radiology. Since the age of 6 she has been performing in the Nutcracker with the Northeast Youth Ballet as well as Melrose Youth Ballet. Being apart of the red team Taylor had the pleasure in opening for the Boston Celtics, as well as performing in the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. Miss Taylor graduated from Dance Teachers Training in 2008 and is a member of the Dance Teachers Club of Boston. Taylor has always had a love and passion for dance and hopes that she can pass it down to her students as she teaches them the art of dance.
